The John Godber Company will bring the “hilarious and hard-hitting” show to Gala Durham, a venue operated by Durham County Council, on March 30 and 31.
Sarah Glynn, strategic manager for culture at Durham County Council, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Teechers to Gala Durham.
“This is a fresh take on a classic comedy that remains as entertaining and relevant as ever.”

Set in a post-Covid school environment, the play follows students Salty, Gail and Hobby as they use their BTEC Performing Arts exam to stage a performance about life at Whitewall Academy.
Through a mix of humour and honesty, the students act out the lives of teachers, classmates and staff—including Miss Nixon, the drama teacher who changed their lives by introducing them to the world of performance.
The story unfolds as the students prepare to leave school, only to learn that Miss Nixon also plans to move on, this time to a nearby private school.
Ms Glynn believes the show’s appeal is broad.
She said: “Whether it makes visitors reminisce about their own experiences at school or just provides them with an evening full of laughs, we’re certain that audiences are going to be thoroughly entertained by the show.”
