The Washy Comedy Festival will take place from May 21–23 at Arts Centre Washington, welcoming performers from across the UK.
Award-winning comic Matt Reed will headline the event with his critically-acclaimed show Stalked.
Matt Blyth, Culture and Heritage Officer at ACW, said: “Over three days audiences can expect sharp stand-up, imaginative storytelling and a few delightfully chaotic moments, all taking place in our intimate and welcoming. Get ready for a weekend of fun, laughter, and community spirit!”
The festival is organised by Felt Nowt Comedy.
Comedian Elaine Robertson will bring her playful and insightful show Delulu, which won the ISH Edinburgh Fringe Panel Prize.
Rising star Kerris will perform Getting On, a blend of theatre and stand-up exploring her journey to the stage.
For families, Lee Kyle offers his Giant Comedy Show for Families Who Aren’t Boring, a lively mix of stand-up and audience interaction.
Kyle, who also works with Felt Nowt Comedy, said: “We always love working with Arts Centre Washington, their support for North East talent is constant.
“Matt Reed is a long-time favourite in the region and we know the people of Washington will love him.”
